DVB-FMT - Protocols and signaling for adaptive Fade Mitigation Techniques in DVB-RCS multi-beam systems

The project is identifying, analysing, optimising and demonstrating adaptive Fading Mitigation Techniques (FMT) with the necessary corresponding protocols, signaling information and formats for future broadband, DVB-based satellite systems, leading to a higher efficiency than is available with current systems.


As part of the project, the DVB-S2 standard is be being investigated and an appropriate return link system designed.

TriaGnoSys is responsible for the investigation of the protocol layers for fragmentation, MAC, and resource allocation in a DVB system with FMT.
